Brecon Beacons National Park is 5 minutes from Gelli with West Wales highest mountain peak, Pen-y-Fan.
Carreg Cennen Castle, a 13th Century castle with incredible views and access to a natural cave beneath the castle. Privately owned due to a mistake in the deeds when the farm beneath the castle was sold. It is just 2 miles away by car or you can walk direct from Gelli along the river up to the castle.
The pretty market town of Llandeilo is situated on the river Towy which is one of the best Trout rivers in the UK fed by the River Cennan which runs through the property where Gelli have fishing rights.
Dinefwr estate and 18th Century deer park which has its own castle overlooking the river Towy and historic Newton House.
National Botanic Garden of Wales. Largest single-span great glass house in the world, houses the largest collection of Mediterranean plants in the northern hemisphere. Admission tickets allow unlimited access over a 7day period.
Aberglasney Gardens houses the only surviving Elizabethan Cloister Garden in the UK and is only a short drive from Gelli.
The Gower Peninsula– It was made the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956, and hasn’t changed much since! Beautiful, unspoilt beaches and coves including Oxwich Bay and Rossilli Bay, both Blue Flag beaches.
Tenby is a Welsh seaside town which has two beaches and a picturesque harbour with many independent shops, cafes and pubs. Pop on a boat to go dolphin watching.
Waterfalls – Henrhyd waterfall near Neath. Aberdulais waterfall and water wheel near Neath. Four waterfalls walk where you can walk behind the waterfall and bathe in the crystal-clear mountain waters.
National showcaves centre for Wales in the Brecon Beacons has 17 kilometres of caves, a dinosaur park, Shire horse centre, fossil house and Iron Age Village.
